What will a major flood do to the trout fishing on a river?

The river I fish on flooded to over 23ft. above flood stage yesterday and I would like to know how and for how long the fishing will be bad, if at all.

It won’t be good until the water level subsides and the currents come back down to normal I would say 2 weeks to a month and it will probabally return to good fishing.
